I Got Boosted on Medium: Only My Second Story on Medium
Only the second story on my profile and a boosted one, should I be proud?
About two weeks ago, I got an email from Medium.
I was like, “Really? It actually happened.”
The boosted post was about Education: Women's Education Is as Important as Men's Education.
The surprising part is that it was only my second story on this platform and a boosted one, it skyrocketed my views and reads.
The post was an awareness post and of course, it took me about 5 hours to write that story because I wrote it with great research.
I read over dozens of authentic researches to compile my story.
When my story got boosted, I got several notifications every hour and many emails, so I had to mute the notification for that post😂.
Stats after the boost
My stats after the boost were 10x better than my previous stats and my earning of that story is also seven times more than my second most earned story to date.
I got 195, 146, 311, 122, and 103 respectively in the next five days with a mindblowing 131 reads in a single day. My previous best was 28.
My stats were improving after the boost and I got recognized on Medium by fellow writers and readers.
My followers are 611 and counting.
After that, the story got dead or near dead because the views, as well as the readers, dropped gradually.
And to be exact most of the reads and views if not all are from the boosted post.
And definitely, the boosted post was my most engaging post to date with over 1600 claps and 49 comments.
You might think the stats are not amazing but imagine for a writer with a five-day-old account.
The Earning Part
The earnings are also not normal as I told you earlier the earnings of that story are 7 times more than my second earned story to date.
I earned a total of $52.77 and still earning.
666 views 249 reads and 52.77 dollars are ten times more than my expectations from a single story on Medium as a newbie.
I can safely say that the time I spent on that story was worth it.
I wrote the second part of this story which also got 88 views and earned me $6.68. Although it took me hours to write that story too but I am satisfied because I have only a small readership yet and when I will grow I hope I will get more and more views.
Why did I get Boosted?
Well, I might not know the true reason but the thing that distinguishes this story from my other stories is that the story was well-researched, inspiring topic, related tags, and well-sited.
I provided the references where needed and I only added the authentic and well-researched stats. It might be the reason I got a boost.
There might be several other reasons that only the person who boosted my story knows.
Who should I give credit to?
Well, when I started writing on Medium I only knew a few writers but now I know many of the writers on this platform. But the writers who helped me at the beginning deserve a big thanks.
