I Loved Poetry, But Couldn’t Study It
A cry from my heart

Oh my curse, today I give you up
Farewell in the long journey you will have
Keep me in your whispers just like I did
Never forget that you were loved
You were spoken, you were written
But you were despised more
For worldly treasures you don’t bear
And so I bury you today; in ashes and mud you go away
Promise to meet me in my next life
One in which I carry gold
And so that I may carry you with the proudness you deserve
Oh my gift, today I give you up.
