Yesterday, I rejected a girl so that I could focus more on my work, and I have no regrets.

Several years ago, we were friends, but then we got disconnected for seven years.

A week ago, she suddenly contacted me and confessed her love to me.

Although she was very serious about the relationship, she is not independent, and she is still immature.

Every time I talk to her, I get distracted because I keep thinking about her afterward.

A clear rejection is always better than a fake promise.

At the moment, I don’t really have any feelings for her and I think getting into a relationship and acting like a lover when I’m not actually one is a betrayal.

It will only create problems and distract us both if we get into a relationship now.

I also have the fear (pistanthrophobia) of getting hurt in a romantic relationship. I’m sure that the more we talk, the more attached we’ll be, and if we get into trouble (which will surely happen since we’re both young), we’ll have to cut it off suddenly, and that’ll be a painful experience for both of us.

As someone who has experienced this before, I can tell you that once you are deeply attached to someone, it can be really hard to move on.

Therefore, instead of creating a mess with her, I decided to reject her and move on.

I told her to focus on her career and be independent so that she can make her own decisions in the future.

Her response was that she would focus on her career and wait for me.

At first, she was upset because I probably sounded rude. In the end, she understood everything (I hope so) and promised not to contact me until she became independent.

Let’s see what happens in the future.
