I wish I hadn't stopped writing
you'd relate to this if you are a new* writer
It was August 2023, during the summer, when I first heard about Medium. At the time, I was writing on Substack, but once my first year of university started and I got busy with the transition from high school, I ended up abandoning my writing there.
Fast forward one year, and I said to myself:
“Ahh, okay, out of everything I could do to build a brand, writing is the most relevant to me right now.”
Just as I had that thought, Medium came back onto my radar.
It’s funny because when I first heard of Medium, I dismissed it as just another small platform among many others. But it turns out, it’s a major player, connecting both aspiring and established writers of today. I was shocked by my ignorance.
Then I started writing on Medium. I watched a video by Hudson Rennie, a Medium YouTuber who shares guides, and after doing some research, I jumped in. On June 26th, I published my first article, *Why Do We Write?* — excited and energetic. After that, I began exploring what else I could do alongside writing to build a personal brand.
