A job contract is similar to a business contract. Every amount is in exchange for a commodity.

The salary paid to you is in exchange for the work you do for your organization. Your compensation is the worth of the service you give to the company.

The service you deliver is a list of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly tasks.

If 400 people like you work for the organization, they are being paid for performing a list of tasks.

Now, here you are, having dreams to progress in your role.

You have one thing in mind: the formula is to take on more work.

But here is my question.

Is it enough for you to take on more work to be endorsed for career advancement in your organization?

Well, the company pays you $ for an x number of tasks.

And if this happens, congratulations to the company who hired you.

You were hired for a discount in the eyes of the human resources department as they were going over the personnel budget.
