There are many reasons why we write.

Some of us write because we love it.

Others write because it provides some form of emotional relief.

And definitely, some write for the money. There is nothing wrong with that. We have goals. And an aspect of our life goals has to be monetary.

Financial goals are as respectable as any other pursuits. Look, there is nothing shameful talking about earning money as a writer. We have bills to pay. There are mouths to feed. Having disposable pocket money feels God Darn Good too.

But too many of us are trying to write less and earn more. I get it. We want to leverage. However, leverage is a multiplier. Having a 10% multiplier is useless if our writing base is zero.

10% x 0 = 0.

We have to get back to the basics. We have to start thinking. How can we shore up our writing base and bring it as high as possible?
