The Lost Data Debate Out of Nowhere About Why Erasing Taxpayer-Funded Data Matters for Health, Well-Being, and the Future
Reviewing a recent scientific paper in the New England Journal of Medicine, listening to a podcast from Brooking, and reading several news articles confused me.
I thought we were in the age of information dissemination and freedom, but my understanding from credible sources painted a different picture. This situation deeply concerns me as a person who studied information management and made my living with vital information.
To make sense of what I am trying to say, just imagine you are trying to fix something important — like your health, education, or the environment without adequate data and the correct information. This will be like trying to assemble a complicated puzzle with missing pieces. How can we expect to solve problems or make progress when the information we need is out of reach?
