Indifference

Do you really care about us?

In my eyes, I only see
a night so heavy beckoning me;
The cry of the sky, a withering flower
Why is the world so cruel and sour?

The stars glitter in their heavenly abode
as I lay against the blades of the old;
A night of wailing sirens, people with preposterous dignity,
We exist in a world of apathy.

How can we say, “It’s a nice day!”
When all we are are predators eating prey;
Live as you must, bar none
Until the last thread of life is spun.
