The detectives noted that a gravy ladle was found at the scene and on further inspection of the body, they realized her body had been drained of all of her blood.

An excerpt of the statement left by the investigating officer upon inspection of the crime scene.

In May of 1932, the body of a young sex worker was discovered in her apartment. The victim was 32-year-old Lilly Lindeström, her friends had previously reported her missing after she was last seen heading out with an unknown man.

What makes this case particularly gruesome is the state in which her body was discovered. Lindeström’s head was bludgeoned in and her body was drained of most of its blood. Several weeks after the discovery of her body, a blood-stained ladle was discovered near her apartment. Residents of Stockholm started whispering about the possibility of an actual vampire living in their quarter.

In the dead of the night when all seems quiet and you think you’re safe that’s when evil comes out to play.
