Come on aboard, come on aboard my dear readers. Today we’ll be looking at a very crucial topic something I know has been frequently addressed by avid writers, tech gurus, and so on.

Funny enough, some colleagues of mine and I were talking about this the other day and we debated on many possibilities of AI being evil or being used for evil.

Now, I wouldn’t want to tell you all the conclusions we came to cause there wouldn’t be a need for this article today.

So, please buckle up…

Now, before anything else let’s go through a brief description of what AI is;

AI(Artificial Intelligence); as we all know is the ability of machines to be able to think on their own and make decisions in a timely fashion.

So, is this so-called AI evil? Well, I wouldn’t say yes, the reason being that AI was created in the first place to assist us, humans, in our line of work, at home, and who knows what else.

Rather I would go with the second possibility of AI being able to be used for evil. Why? because, come on imagine possessing a tool that can do whatever you want by just inputting the correct commands.

Let’s not also forget that the famous ChatGPT can be used to generate code for a malicious program, and hack into personal bank accounts with just the right command prompt.

Here’s a screenshot of what I asked ChatGPT to do;

Fortunately, it couldn’t due to restrictions now placed on it. Though these restrictions can be maneuvered through and you could get a harmful block of code being handed to you on a golden platter.

Some major examples;

A researcher from Forcepoint was able to get ChatGPT to write malware by finding a loophole in his prompts.

Researchers from Cyber-Ark managed to make ChatGPT write polymorphic malware.

This just keeps coming and coming, and there’s also ChatGPT 4 which’s a major upgrade to its predecessor, and who knows what its capable of.

But don’t feel panicked cause I’m sure they are programmers at OpenAI working against this.

Conclusion: Nevertheless, AI is great, it’s just what it can be used for that’s the scary part. Although, there are limitations and restrictions placed currently on the information it can supply it doesn’t stop cybercriminals from figuring through-the-corner methods of bypassing it.

Thank you for reading;)
