Is DEI Just Another Sound Bite To Create Scapegoats?

We all advertise our alliances, but sometimes virtual signals are more about finding someone to blame

Election years sound a lot of alarms

Sound bites can be little blinking, and winking lights to signal to those of “your kind” that someone is out to get you.

Basically, they are alarms.

There are those who want division and those who want inclusion. There are those who want immigration and diversity, and those who are afraid of it. There are those who want sex and gender parity, and those who do not. The same can be said about age, class, color — everything that humans share.

We have to decide, each for ourselves, whether we look at all these little flashing lights and are turned off, turned on, or completely indifferent.

DEI stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion. It’s a little easier to understand than the last big threat, CRT (critical race theory-college courses on history) that so many made a big deal about and then largely dropped. With DEI, charges are made that people like Kamala Harris are only hired for their color or sex, despite the fact that white men have never been excluded from most spheres of influence. (the word…
