Is Multitasking Making You Superhuman or Just Stressed?
Multitasking often comes out as a bragging badge. “I can juggle so many different things all at one time,” people proclaim. I had believed it for a long, long time.
I will answer my emails while making dinner or write my reports while on TV, convinced of my prowess as a productivity superhero.

However, I have found my work was actually suffering and even nearly burnt dinner in the stove at times. It made me ask, “Is really multitasking a productivity bonus, or is it an easy route to stress?”
The Allure of Multitasking
It’s true that balancing multiple things can be thrilling.It creates the appearance of doing a lot of work in a short period of time. I feel like I’m on top of the world while I’m brainstorming and texting.
But is that excitement real? Stanford University research suggests that multitasking is a fiction since our brains aren’t made for it. With every task change, we lose valuable time and mental energy.
