Is Success only determined by Natural Talent?
Short answer is: You have to decide which narrative you want to stick with to reason your success
I will answer using my current life story.
However, before that, let me define what natural talent is.
We arrive in this world as a package stuffed with specific attributes that make each one of us different.
A hypothetical 50% of this package we conduct ourselves is courtesy of our DNAs, and the remaining 50% is achieved by learning from society.
DNAs would have gone through several births to equip us with a collective mind and conscience we took birth. This is natural talent for me.
So, the remaining 50% of our value system is shaped in 60~80 years of our tenancy period on Earth. This is playfield for hard work to thrive.
Now, back to my story!!
Over the past two years, I have been trying to relocate to a European country for a change in life. I am residing in Singapore.
And in all my sincerity, I have made efforts, whether it is networking on LinkedIn, previous company contacts, or consistent follow-ups
There have been instances where the offer almost got materialized, yet later, the role got ghosted, the budget was trimmed down, the hiring manager left, visa issues surfaced and whatnot.
One can have different thoughts on how to perceive this situation. You might hear proverbs such as:
- Keep trying, and never give up!
- Visualize that you already have it.
- You are destined to get what is written for you- nothing more or less.
- Do you work, don’t be concerned with the results- Bhagwad Gita.
But what matters is how I perceive this lesson!
And that, for me, is- Never lose hope! Keep trying!
I would not have sustained this journey for so long if it was never meant to happen!
I will be successful when my natural talent and hard work will be in divine symphony!!
