It suggested that the top news organization, the New York Times, now identifies as a game company.

Among the apps owned by the New York Times, its gaming app commands a huge chunk of user time.

Ball claims the New York Times “is now a gaming company on the basis of customer time spent.”

The NYT = gaming company = quite a statement

First, it highlights the smart move of buying Wordle for a modest sum in January 2022. But it’s not just Wordle’s success.
