Karl Malone was a star in the National Basketball Association (NBA) when he played for the Utah Jazz for eighteen seasons from 1985–2003. He became known as a power forward working with John Stockton, who was a point guard with the Jazz.

Stockton would regularly feed the ball to Malone, who made many baskets. They became known as dynamic duo. Stockton earned records for assists. A slogan at the time was “Stockton to Malone,” and the two opened up a car dealership by that name. [The owner of the Utah Jazz until his passing was Larry H. Miller, who owned many car dealerships along with the Jazz.]

Karl Anthony Malone was born on July 24, 1963, in Louisiana. He was nicknamed “The Mailman” and is considered as one of the greatest power forwards in the history of the NBA. [His birthday is a holiday in the state of Utah as Pioneer Day.]

Malone was the NBA's Most Valuable Player two times, an NBA All-Star fourteen times, and a member of the All-NBA First Team eleven times.
