Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated. — Confucius

We make life complicated by keeping overthinking. Overthinking ruins you. Overthinking itself is not a mental illness.

It simply means thinking too much about something. Here is a straightforward definition of overthinking.

Thinking in the past is overthinking.

Worrying about the future is overthinking.

I wrote a detailed article on overthinking here, but today’s topic is different. It is related to overthinking but more inclined to simplify things. Let me try to explain it.

We live in a complex world.

Simplicity is important.

From the design perspective, everyone competes to create the most attention-seeking product by adding whatever grabs human attention.

It’s worth mentioning that human attention is depleting faster than ever. According to this research, we have less than eight seconds of attention span.

The average American sees around 4,000 to 10,000 advertisements per day, and companies are spending billions to create the simplest way to get a user’s attention.
