Winter sun shines around and through warm beige alabaster carved with 2 figures looking down together holding a child
Author’s photo of sculpture in Alabaster by James Fletcher

Rough-hewed alabaster

takes flight from flint,

as hammer to hooves.

Footings knee deep in The Nile,

the Child embraced by exile.

The sculpture has 2 faces translucently illuminated and beneath arms holding the child in shadowy rough stone. Veined Stone
