Lamp Blown Off

50-Word Poetry June Challenge Day 12

Photo by Vladimir Fedotov on Unsplash

Closing my eyes,
I wait with patience
for the images
to appear
and fill the empty space
to become an irresistible impulse
and stimulate my poetry nerves

Minutes pass…

emptiness still remains
no sign of light but darkness prevails

Lamp of imagination
blown off
by this ruthless demon
writer’s block

Today is another day of no inspiration
