Let’s Blackface It, This Abomination Still Exists Today
Is it still 1850?
Every once in a while, you see something that is so horrible, so uncomfortable, that it’s incomprehensible — true nightmare material. The mere thought of what you witnessed being out in the wild, and beyond any sense of decency, might just be enough to warrant a call to your therapist.
The other day such a sight had its way with my visual scope and left me dumbfounded. To say I was in shock, doesn’t begin to describe the emotion that enveloped me. What I saw was beyond disturbing and the fact that I was connected to it (in some small way), made the experience that much worse.

While researching for a new writing project, I found myself going down a rabbit hole of previous life chapters, specifically those of my developmental years that gave root to my Blackness.
Growing up in the suburbs of Boston wasn’t easy, and for the most part the challenges I faced on the daily prepared me for what I would later experience in adulthood.
