Life is About More Than Just Working
So don’t feel guilty if you need some time to unwind.
This week I’ve done absolutely nothing to pursue my goals.
I didn’t write a single word, read an article, or even think twice about improving my life.
Instead, I chose to work my regular 9-5 job — though I would have taken a week away from that too if I could’ve — go home immediately afterwards, kick back and relax with my family.
In the evening when I would usually write, I chose to play video games, binge-watch TV, eat snacks, drink beverages (a few of which were alcoholic) and switch my mind off from all responsibilities.
I even skipped gym workouts this week as well.
And even though I am nowhere near close to achieving any of my current goals, I don’t regret a thing.
Because now, as we approach the end of the week with the weekend just around the corner, I feel happy relaxed and refreshed.
I feel ready to get myself back on track again. Ready to pick up where I left off. And prepared to push myself a little bit harder to make further progress.
Just what the doctor ordered — as the saying goes.
