Life Is Not An Exam
At least not in the traditional way
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
–Will Durant
This morning, I stumbled upon a Medium article that slapped me in the face. It said, “Chill because life is not an exam.”
This made me ponder the way I lived my life the whole morning.
If life is not an exam, is it okay to make mistakes? Sure, mistakes can be painful sometimes, but they are a natural consequence of you leaving your comfort zone.
Forget perfection — If you make mistakes, that’s a good sign that you’re trying. You will learn from them, adapt, and evolve from the lessons they offer to you.
If you genuinely want something, if you’re really drawn to it, get obsessed. It may be hard at first to deal with the pain of errors, but with repetition, you will understand their natural power.
Will it embarrass you? Maybe. But who cares?
Do you prefer to be embarrassed now or later? The best answer would be to embrace the embarrassment now as a victory, and a stepping stone toward greater success.
Mistakes are tools for achieving your goals — use them wisely.
That’s all for today.
