Lifeguarding
Poetry
You came to watch me swim
To be sure I wouldn’t drown
We swam alongside each other
If I fell behind, you waited for me
Splashing in the mountain lake
Dodging the storms
We said we would keep swimming until we got struck by lighting
By then it was love
Now we are lifeguards
Keeping each other safe and warm
