Practically everyone has heard of Louis Pasteur, the world-renowned biologist, microbiologist, and chemist. His work transformed modern medicine and public health. Pasteur pioneered the germ theory of disease and developed the process of pasteurization, which remains a cornerstone of food safety around the world. Thanks to his discoveries, we now safely consume milk and other products free from harmful pathogens.
Pasteur also laid the groundwork for modern immunology by creating the first laboratory-produced vaccines. His early work targeted deadly diseases such as rabies, cholera, and anthrax, saving countless lives and paving the way for future medical breakthroughs.
