What Is a Life Operating System (“LOS”)?

A Life Operating System (“LOS”) is a self-authored owner’s manual, describing how you want to show up in the world and experience life. It answers crucial existential questions. Who do you want to be? How do you want to be? What do you want to do? Your LOS voices and calls into being your aspirations and intentions.

“First tell yourself what kind of person you want to be, then do what you have to do. For in nearly every pursuit we see this to be the case.” — EPICTETUS, DISCOURSES, 3.23.1–2a

Your LOS does not magically run your life on autopilot. It’s the detailed blueprint for building the fulfilling creation you want your life to become. It becomes a dynamic operating manual for how to be your best self. It is your reference source document for reflection, planning, inspiration, and ultimately manifestation.

A personalized, detailed and heartfelt LOS leads to deeper texture, nuance, and insights. Done well, it summons forth a holistic and thematic understanding of how you want to live. It paints with granularity the daily behavior code for how you wish to live day to day.
