Master the Art of Connecting with Your Readers Through Emotional Intelligence
Connect with Your Audience on a Deeper Level
We’ve all been there: Staring at a blank page, Wondering how on earth we’re supposed to pour our hearts and souls into words and have them actually mean something to someone else.
It can be a daunting task, to say the least.
But you know what? Like many writers, I’ve experienced my fair share of failures. One of the most memorable was when I submitted a personal essay to a literary magazine, expecting it to be a slam dunk since my professor was the lead editor.
But instead, I received a rejection letter that basically said, “Nah, we don’t feel your emotions and we don’t care.” Talk about a blow to the ego.
It was a tough pill to swallow!
As much as it sucked at the time, that rejection ended up being one of the best things that ever happened to me as a writer.
It forced me to look at my writing in a different way and really think about how I was connecting with my readers. And that’s when I realized the importance of writing with emotional intelligence.
You see, it’s not enough to just have good ideas and a way with words.
