Life Was Tough For A While And I Forgot That I Had Anything To Say
It’s been forever since I wrote, it’s a muscle one forgets to use.
Previously, I’d write when I fell overwhelmed with emotion or excitement or some other sentiment, the words would tumble out. It’s why I started writing.
But what happens when your life has become a round of ‘Sleep, Work, Eat, Repeat’? You don’t know who you are anymore, you know your marriage probably sucks, you work all the time and live in constant overwhelm, your emotions are all over the place, and sometimes you just have none. So, that’s been me.
Why write then? What do I talk about? Who would want to listen?
Well, as it turns out, perhaps writing about this nothingness is valuable too. Just putting words on paper takes me out of my mind. Focuses my thought, stops it all swirling around up there.
It’s been a hard couple of years. We moved to Valencia, Spain, something that many would celebrate. Yet my husband couldn’t find a job, I didn’t easily find the work I wanted either, we knew almost nobody, and while my sister and her family did live here, I didn’t want to burden her with all my worries.
