There’s an interesting new trend here on Medium and it has big implications for writers like us.
Medium is an open platform, where anyone can write what they please and anyone can read it if they so desire. In its finest moments, it represents the best of independent person-centred journalism. A selection of well-thought-out, reasoned positions delivered by the global citizen to other interested intelligent parties.
Sure, I’ve got into the odd spat with someone who’d struggle to tie their own philosophical shoes and who should probably stick to ideological loafers, but that’s the sort of thing that makes the internet a hilarious place to hang out. Everyone takes themselves far too seriously.

Reading on this platform has given me access to some of the best thinkers and writers in the liberal world. I have learned about maths, science, history and debated society, psychology and philosophy with people far more astute and qualified than I am.
I can honestly say, it’s been a blast.
