Microsoft X OpenAI

In 2019, Microsoft invested $1 billion dollars into OpenAI, marking an alliance between the 2 companies.

The following are some effects of the alliance:

  • OpenAI obtained the computing power of Microsoft’s Azure cloud services, allowing them to scale, reduce operating costs and receive cash for their technology.
  • Microsoft was given a competitive edge over other major players in the tech industry by acquiring OpenAI’s intellectual property portfolio.

From this alliance, the 2 companies have been working together on various projects, and if you have been following the news, specifically Chat GPT. GPT stands for Generative Pre-Trained Transformer.

Microsoft is expected to launch Bing (their browser search engine) with some Chat GPT features at the end of March 2023. DALL-E, the text-to-image generator that caused such a stir in the last few years, will also be integrated into the search engine. This feature will be very beneficial…
