My rant calling for Big Structural Change: It’s not too late
Thanksgiving has passed. The holiday season continues, I can watch two of my four grandchildren playing basketball, and so life continues
Yet, I find I can’t let go of trying to figure out how to influence the course of American history. Our ship of state has taken a radical turn to the right, as it has done several times before; Heather Cox Richardson has made the clear to us. I won’t allow myself to just walk away and wait for enough damage to be done so that those unsuspecting independent and swing voters will swing back to the Democratic Party. It may not happen even after they have lost their jobs and can’t afford the new drugs to treat their obesity. I have to find a way to be a part of the change. More than that, I miss the challenge. We can’t let these schmucks win, no matter how much money they have.
I know that it looks as if we can work to repair the mistakes that we made in our last battle. We didn’t lose by that much. The truth is on our side. We have the right values, and we only lost by 10 votes in every district. However, that really feels like wishful thinking. Something big is going on here that the Democrats haven’t learned how to defeat.
