Muscle cars and Sports cars have similarities, but there are differences too. First, these two are different cars, not the same. For example, Ford Mustang is a muscle car, not a sports car.

Though the problem is that manufacturers redesign cars regularly, the difference between these two types of vehicles is getting more challenging to recognize. So, as a starter, what is a sports car and what is a muscle car?

A muscle car has a powerful engine. Muscle car engines have V8 or larger. These engines have more horsepower than most other cars. Because of this powerful engine, muscle cars are very speedy but need to slow down while taking a turn.

Though the above definitions have yet to illustrate many differences, there are some notable differences between these two cars. Those are below.

Both muscle and sports cars can hit high speeds and give a fun way to travel from point A to point B.

  1. Muscle car engines are much bigger than sports car engines, and muscle car engines are more powerful.
  2. The muscle car can reach a high speed quickly because of its powerful engine.
  3. While sports cars can make tight turns at top speed, muscle cars have to slow down while making tight turns.
  4. Muscle car size is more extensive than sports car size. So, muscle cars have more interior space, trunk space, and extra comfort.
  5. American Companies such as Ford, Chevrolet, and Dodge make muscle cars. Many international companies make sports cars.
  6. Muscle cars have enormous engines, so they are less fuel-efficient. Sports cars are more fuel-efficient than muscle cars. Hybrid and electric sports cars are more fuel-efficient.
  7. Sports car makers focus mainly on quick acceleration, whereas muscle car makers focus on the car’s power.
  8. An average sports car costs less than an average muscle car. It is because a sports car uses a less powerful engine and is smaller than a muscle car.
  9. A sports car shows better control while driving on a curvy road than a muscle car. Sports cars can go through tight turns at top speed, whereas muscle cars have to reduce velocity while taking tight turns.
  10. Muscle cars speed best on straight roads. While driving on a curvy road, a sports car driver has more control over the car than a muscle car driver has.
  11. Both cars are good while having a leisurely drive. To have a leisurely drive, you cannot choose between the two because both are equally better. However, muscle cars are less fuel-efficient than sports cars.

So, as you see, both cars are equally great. There are some differences between them, but both are outstanding! Though muscle cars eat more oil than sports cars. That is the only drawback of muscle cars. Otherwise, both are genuinely awe-inspiring!!!
