My sister, Marsha, died at the young age of eight. Two years earlier, I moved in with her family, and she demanded I call her my sister, not her cousin. She had a rare neurological disease, which affected her muscles. We spent many months in the hospitals, but there were two years, right before her death, she was doing very well.
