My Faulty Faucet

Loneliness sneaks in every time the sun sets
And it’s during those moments the annoying sounds of the faulty faucet
You were supposed to fix keeps playing the same song.
You promised to fix it
When I’d ask
You replied, “this weekend,” and then you’d plant a warm one on my cheeks
I’d stare at you unimpressed
You’d blow me a kiss before walking out the door.
This stupid song won’t let me sleep
It’s been weeks, and still…
