How I threw the best summer party people still talk about
I’m watching the Real Housewives of Orange Country and Gina is throwing a pink-flamingo-themed party aboard a boat. I have high expectations and not just for the diva drama. I want to see how they are going to throw down this awesome theme.
I’m hugely disappointed.
It means nothing more than (yawn) sporting some pink apparel.
I’m going to have to tell The Real Housewives how it’s ‘really’ done.
Every summer I threw what I called my Pink Flamingo party. It was a fan favorite. No one missed my Pink Flamingo if they could help it. I amped up the best part of every summer.
Here’s what I did.
I flooded my yard with pink flamingos.
I rented a massive tent (think wedding) and hired a jimmy buffet vibe guitar player. I went with the outdoor party meets barbecue vibe. What’s the first thing you can’t wait to do in the summer? Eat grilled chicken, hamburgers, and hot dogs, and drink beer. I hired a caterer who served only these three things and some fresh salads like mozzarella, tomato, and basil. I stocked up on beer and wine.
