My son is a U.S. Navy veteran, U.S. Army Reservist, Police officer, ex-State Trooper, and Emergency Medical Technician. His best friend, & partner Donny, share the same interest. My daughter-in-law is a Paramedic.

Army reservists — Sharief & Donny 12/2006

They have lived & worked in Tennessee and Texas.

I have not seen my 45 years old son for many months. We keep in touch by text and telephone.

He has never let on about the risks at his job, although I know of some police fatalities.

I always pray for their safety, & support law enforcement and military veterans.

It was not until this weekend, during their visit, that I learned from his wife that both survived many dangerous events.

I was in tears and shocked by what these two had to endure, working with drunks, drug addicts, rapists, assault victims, and mentally unstable violent patients.

They tell of being cursed at, attacked, and sustaining bodily injuries when they subdue patients and place them on…
