A single day does not go by when I don’t open the YouTube app and watch videos by some of my favorite creators. Few years ago, YouTube lacked quality content and was more of a collection of random videos made in a very casual manner. But over the last 5 years, serious creators have come to the platform to not only make YouTube as their passion and career , but also provided us with amazing and inspiring content all year round.

Do you ever go on YouTube to watch a 5 minute music video, and then end up an hour later watching “How to Make a Healthy Burger” ? :P

According to reports, in 2020, YouTube has 50 million creators, some very famous and some so not. Let’s go through my top 5 YouTubers, and why I feel they make content which really matters to you! My list is not for the top YouTubers based on subscribers and income, but on the kind of content they make and how you can relate and learn from it.

1. MKBHD (Marques Brownlee)

You might have definitely heard his name if you are a fan of tech videos. Marques was called “the best technology reviewer on the planet right now” by former Google VP Vic Gundotra. His videos are made so crisp and to the point, that I hardly skip a second. Moreover, his shots are way too immersive to make you feel as if you are using the gadget. The best part about him is, his honesty about paid promotions vs reviews, which makes him a great human being to watch. His hardwork and dedication got him to interview some of the biggest personalities in the world — Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and Satya Nadela, CEO of Microsoft.

2. Flying Beast (Gaurav Taneja)

Credits : Twitter

He is a perfect engineer, which is proven by the fact that he is always late in uploading his daily vlogs. But apart from that, as a vlogger he has proven time and again, that no one can beat him when it comes to maintaining cuteness and simplicity in his vlogs. Not only can you connect with the way he portrays his life, but also feel relaxed and destressed after watching him play with his cute daughter “Kaira (Topa)”. For me, there is not a single day that passes without watching his vlogs. My favorite part of his vlogs is the “tea time on the terrace” and the way his cute little kid has fun and gets scared when his dad becomes a gorilla.

If you too like his creation, then shout with me,

“Moo Baa.

La La La. . . ``

4. Best Ever Food Review Show (Sonny)

Credits : Twitter

I have never seen a food review show as brutally honest as this one. Not only does his review seem more like a short movie with excellent cinematography, but through his journey he also tries to make his viewers know and enjoy the cultures of various countries, tribes and communities in the world. One of my favorite series is the “$100 Street Food Challenge”, which unfortunately, Sonny is never able to win. If you plan to visit a new country post quarantine, do checkout his channels for amazing traditional foods you should have and where you can find them!

4. Veritasium (Derek Muller)

Derek is one of those dream teachers you wish to have who can explain a scientific phenomenon as easily as reading a story for a baby. His videos outperform any that I have seen, in explaining some complex scientific phenomena and anomaly in a very simplistic way with amazing eye-catching visuals and graphics. One of my favorite video of his is the one he made on “Parallel Worlds” and how well he linked it with the explanation of Schrodinger’s thought experiment. I am pretty sure once you watch this video, you will now what I mean . . .

5. Singh in USA (Harnoor Singh)

Umm no . . . He might not have a million subscribers on YouTube, but if you are from India, like me, and want to know anything about a student’s life in US including university, food, jobs, holidays — Harnoor’s YouTube channel is the best place you can look for. His vlogs present these information in a very fun and appealing way through stories, interviews and his life in the USA.

Their YouTube Channels

Some other YouTubers who create meaningful content !

I have a lot more YouTube channels I watch which are a great source of fun and entertainment. But these are my top favorites because apart from entertainment, they also give you an opportunity to learn something new.

Let me know in the comments who are your favorite creators on YouTube ?
