Nature Reflects Wisdom
The creation is the reminder to mankind
Nature is loved by every human being. It is not only mesmerizing but also beneficial for all human beings. Many people prefer to go to the beach and love the sight of the sea and the sun. While the majority of people are habitual of jogging and exercising in the morning light. In one way or another, every human being gets immense benefit from nature. However, one can get more benefit from nature by just reflecting on nature. But a question comes in mind that how can one get benefit by reflecting on the trees, moon, sun, and air? Yes, the sun is not only the source of light, but it offers more than just light or energy. The sun, moon, air, and clouds teach us worthwhile wisdom, which ultimately contributes to a happy life. The one who has created everything on the earth is the one who has made everything with deep purpose. God in the Quran mentions at various places about the alteration of day and night, growing of plants, revolving of the earth in orbit, and so on. Apart from scientific knowledge, God has bestowed humans with the gift of nature to visualize this life. Well, this thread will cover the few examples that will help the person to become more positive and hopeful.
“Allah alternates the night and the day. Indeed in that is a lesson for those who have vision”. (24: 44)
“So glorify Allah in the evening and in the morning”.(30:17)
The phenomenon of alteration of the day and night is mentioned multiple times in the Quran, and it is strongly recommended in the Quran to glorify God in the morning and evening. In Arabic, the word “Qalb” is used for “alteration” and “heart”. In the above verse (24:44), the word Qalb is used, which demonstrates the fact that the day and night changes as the state of the person’s heart changes and goes through different phases in different circumstances. This is why Muslims around the world declare the perfection and praise of God at the time of sunset and at the time of sunrise, which ultimately helps the person to realize that the tough and distressing times will eventually go away just as the day comes after night. The night turns to day, and day turns to night, but God is perfect, and He does not go through transformations. The mercy of God is everlasting. He is constantly there to help the person in difficult times, and He does not leave His creation in dark times. All over the world darkness is associated with tough or distressing times. Whereas, light is associated with hopeful and happy times. Similarly, a person can not stay sad forever, nor he can stay happy forever Because nature demonstrates the continuous transformation of the world. Sadness comes after happiness, and happiness comes after sadness. As happiness and sadness, both are part of life, but God is the one who does not change. Therefore, He is worthy of worship.
At another place in the Quran, God mentions the imagery of brightness and darkness, to assure the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) that He has not abandoned, nor He has forgotten prophet. The verses are mentioned below
“By the morning brightness (93:1)
And [by] the night when it covers with darkness, (93:2)
Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]”. (93:3)
The second example is of the sky, which teaches us to live a balanced life and remind us to do justice in life. Allah says in Quran
“And the sky, Allah has elevated it and set the balance. (55:7)
That you may not transgress in the balance. (55:8)
And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance”.(55:9)
Many people love to do different activities under the open sky. Sometimes a person loves to see the sunset and sunrise. The blue sky is not only beautiful but it demonstrates the true balance which is mentioned in the above verse (55:7). The sky is elevated with balance and does not fall. The stars in the sky do not fall. The blue sky does not change its color to purple or red. Everything in the sky is in perfect balance. The sun and the moon appear in the sky at specific times and disappears at a particular time. All this nature around the person which he sees daily gives a reminder to a person to stay disciplined in life just as the sky, moon, and sun are working with discipline. It shows the one who has created the sky, moon, sun, and stars love discipline and balance. This is why His creation depicts the perfect balance. Similarly, Every person is supposed to live with discipline.
It is wonderful that all the planets revolve in orbits, and they do not touch or collide with planet earth. Everything in this world created by God manifests God’s signature. If God loves to see the balance in the sky, then He loves to see the balance on the earth and balance in the humane life. A person goes out of balance when he eats too much and does not care about a healthy diet. Similarly, If a person loves his work so much and he gives all time to his work and does not care about his relations, then it is the representation of imbalance. One should learn from the sun, moon, and stars that they all do their job and never usurp the rights of each other. Similarly, human beings should not usurp the rights of each other and should keep healthy and balanced relations. So, the sky itself is the reminder that tells us to live with justice and balance.
“And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures.(55:10)
Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] (55:11)
And grain having husks and scented plants. (55:12)
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?” (55:13)
The third example is of fruits, plants, and beauty in nature. Every human being walks on the earth comfortably. The earth is created in a way that it does not shake continuously, It bears all the burden, and it is not slippery. Hence, it is perfectly created for humans so that they can walk easily and do their work comfortably. Not only God created the earth for human beings but also created the earth for plants, animals, and all other living creatures. All plants do not grow in one place. Some plants need cold weather. While others need hot weather. On the one hand, A camel is the ship of the desert. On the other hand, a lion is the king of the jungle. Every creature on the earth is given home. God does not only fulfill the need of fishes in water but also He fulfills the needs of microorganisms. Every living creature is given air to breathe. So, The one who has created the living creatures, He constantly takes care of His creatures. God is merciful. Human beings should learn to love and take care of each other as God takes care of all the living creatures. One should see the skin of fruits that how the banana, orange, watermelon, pomegranate are wrapped up beautifully.
Moreover, God could have designed us in a way that we could only eat grass, but God created everything with love and care, and He provided humans with scented fruits and plants. Further, The strawberries are created red, the bananas are created in yellow color, and so on. Every fruit is not only wrapped up but also it is pleasing to the eyes. If God is giving sustenance to ants, then how come He will not provide or fulfill the needs of humans. Every bird flying in the air is given food by God, then how is it possible that He will ignore human beings. When a person sees the plants, fruits, and animals, then he should remind himself that one who takes care of everything on earth is the one who loves care. Therefore, Every human being is supposed to take care of each other. Also, Every human being should beautify himself and should beautify the environment around himself.
Nature gives us countless lessons and we as human beings take it for granted. In verse 13 God says, “So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?” which emphasizes that one should not forget the favors of God, and should not become ungrateful. Hence, the creation of God is the best teacher. One who learns from it is the one who succeeds and lives a happy life.
