How many books have you read that show you how to become more efficient, earn more money, or cram more stuff into 24 hours? They offer penny wisdom such as „Do more with less“ or „Work smarter, not harder.“

I don’t know about you, but I’m sick of being told I should do more. This collective frenzy of non-stop efficiency is killing us slowly. We work like we’ll live forever, and out of desperation, we throw our hard-earned money at the latest gadget that promises more time for us and freedom from society’s break-neck speed.

„Use this tool to get things done faster and have more time for yourself.“

That’s the promise. And because we’re starving for more me-time, we readily believe that promise.

But reality quickly kicks us in the butt. Sure, we gain some time, but it is immediately „reinvested“ into doing more. Let’s consider the time savings we get thanks to AI. As far as your boss is concerned, you can now do additional things during eight hours at work. You can’t go home two hours earlier and enjoy yourself.
