If I don’t take care of myself I won’t be able to help others, right?
The elections are over. For many of us, it is still difficult to believe that so many people voted for Trump. He is already proving to be as bad as we thought, and it is astounding that he has surrounded himself with so many strange and incompetent people. These individuals will likely be running incredibly powerful government departments that have helped hold the world together socially, scientifically, and economically. Now, they will do all they can to destroy them.
There is a great deal to be done in the hope of slowing this destruction and salvaging enough so that we can “Build Back Better,” sometime, maybe.
But right now, I’m here in what seems to be the land of make-believe. However, it is really a small spot on the globe that has managed to pull things together, at least for a while. The place is economically rich, naturally and visibly beautiful, completely safe, with almost all its citizens living harmoniously. Although some of the richest people on Earth live around here, as one of the residents told me, “We tolerate them; we get along.” This place is probably not as wonderful as it seems to me, but since we are only here for a week and spending a lot of money, everyone has been very good to us.
