So, I just woke up, well about twenty minutes ago, and decided it was time for a nice warm cuppa when suddenly I thought to myself… “Wow it’s really quiet right now, I could hear a pin drop!”
Okay, I know it’s quiet, it’s just turned 04:00hrs.
Yet my brain never seems to ever want to shut up and stop thinking when I need it to… and trust me, I’ve lived with this brain for just over five centuries now.
So, out comes that laptop because sleep’s not going to happen, until this story has been written (okay, perhaps I should more accurately say, bashed out of the keyboard, instead.)
But that particular saying?
Just where did it come from, as it didn’t simply just pop up in casual conversation, did it?
Well actually no, it originates from Susan Ferrier’s printed book called, The Inheritance from back in 1824 (in which this saying was used, “… you might have heard a pin drop in the house while that was going on.”
