Observations from a Few Days on Substack
I don’t think the money is greener on the other side…
Due to the earnings issues we have all been experiencing on Medium this month and the multiple social media posts I kept seeing about Substack, I decided to take my talents to this blogging social media site.

Here are my observations in comparison to Medium and what I have learned:
1. We have it good on Medium.
Minus the current earnings issue, we have it good on Medium. We have established publications where we can post articles and potentially have thousands of people read them. That means we don’t have to market for the audience like we do on Substack.
Clap for that! No, really, “clap” for this article.
2. The Medium Partner Program is better.
Again, minus the current earnings issue, and with point number 1 in mind, I don’t have to market for every dollar I earn. I think it is great that a Medium member can pay just $5 per month and have unlimited access to articles on Medium. Whereas on Substack, a member has to pay for each writer’s “newsletter” if it is not free. I just don’t like asking someone to pay $8 for my work per month and…
