On Being Hallow
Free Verse Poetry — In Search of the Sacred

“I want to know if
You ever feel hallow?”
Let Me Know You ~ ©2013 DCT ponderings
I have this longing for the Divine
Search through the mantras I repeat —
Prayer beads tightly wound around my fingers
Rocking on my heels to the sound of angel wings —
There is this urgent need for enlightenment
I still thank Gaia in moments of weakness
Lights candles to Mother Mary
And venerate Saraswati
Sing hymns to Jesus and Lord Krishna
And chant with Buddhist monks
I try to include even the obscurest of deities —
Offering incense to long forgotten gods
I like to think I am one step closer to being hallow
Even if I still occasionally miss the mark
