On Tyrants and Dictators

And the wanna-be of both

From what depths do you ascend, O evil creatures?
Even hell has rejected you. I, a daughter of darkness
cannot even comprehend your viciousness and lies
You are neither majestic nor mysterious —
you’ve displayed all your plans
You’ve laughed in the Fates’ faces
and trampled over Lady Justice’s laws
You think you are more wise than all the elders of this land
and care not for the pleading of our youth

I’ve looked into the voids of your eyes — no souls dwell there
You are neither kind nor compassionate —
not even Death wants to be near
You can merely mimic what you see and hear
But those of us awakened see too clearly —
you are all impostors in a play thrust upon this world
Your masks fit too tightly — your evil is cracking through

You refuse any acts that deflate your fragile egos
and hammer home your laws with bullets and tanks
You lock away your critics or shoot them in the streets
the blood of your victims only fuels your tyrannical deeds
And history reveals the oppressed always rise —
they beat back their oppressors, take over and thrive
until once again you evil creatures crawl from some abyss

One day we will find your fissure and seal it up
no more repeating history, no more sneaky surprises
when we all think we are safe — your kind will be condemned
to some place worse than hell — nothingness of oblivion’s end
