I read this story on an Instagram page. There is a book called Getting Too Neutral. It talks about this story.

Frank was a dull guy. He didn’t have any expectations from people. He didn’t have any expectations from himself. His mother pressured him to take an exam in America. He said you should appear in it. He said Mom, I don’t think I’ll pass it but if you do say, I will try and give an attempt. He got 1480 marks out of 1600. Everybody was amazed. He got a genius-level result. His mother asked him first, did you cheat?

He said, Mom, I was asked to do it but I didn’t cheat. But I am so intelligent. He said, if I am so intelligent, why am I wasting my life? Why do I roam around with such bad people? Why do I skip classes? That boy started working hard. He performed very well in school. His performance was seen by teachers. Teachers helped him. Later, he went to a better college. After that, he became a big man in the magazine industry. After 12 years, the SAT, who took the exam, sent him a result again.

They said 12 years ago, we sent the wrong results to 13 people by mistake. You got 740 marks, not 1480.

So, you see when this man started respecting himself, he said, I am intelligent, I can do good in life. And he started doing well in life. That score was just a catalyst. How many times do we have to say that because we think we are not good, we don’t even try?

In conclusion, Frank’s journey teaches us a powerful lesson about self-perception and the impact it can have on our lives. Despite receiving incorrect SAT results, he initially underestimated his abilities. It was only when he acknowledged his intelligence and started respecting himself that he began to excel in life.

The story encourages us to challenge our own negative beliefs, take risks, and believe in our potential. Sometimes, the first step to success is changing the way we see ourselves. So, let’s embrace our capabilities, overcome self-doubt, and strive for success with confidence.
