There's nothing more stressful than being confident about the location of an item, only to realize it's not where you thought it was.

The phenomenon known as "false memory" or "misremembering" occurs when you are so certain you know where you placed a tangible or e-item, only to find yourself puzzled when it's to grab and use it.

You search tirelessly, scouring every corner, yet it remains out of reach.

There are many strategies for overcoming false memory. Among these are;

  • Being mindful and focused on what you are doing right now.
  • Keep your workspace and life organized. Putting your stuff in its designated space will prevent you from forgetting where you kept it.
  • Use to-do lists, digital or handwritten, to remind you of vital information. This will keep you from scattering the whole place when you need them.
