Only the Mirror Knows
A poem about self-love
The mirror tells a truth, I cannot hide,
Only in the mirror’s gaze, do I find what I
left behind.
In front, bluey-grey eyes stare into my soul
In the chasm of my heart, I have to let the
sadness go.
To defy faceless shadows, to let my distress
slip away,
I’m holding the pen to a fresh newborn day,
Bid this new chapter to bring love and
glory,
Dry the ink of resilience, this is now my
story.
Each tear is a pearl, a testament to the
power I grew,
A place of healing, where self-love is anew.
To blossom like a battered rose after a
storm’s rage,
To walk proud, my life is my very own stage.
May my determination embody sunshine on
serene days,
Beneath clear blue skies,
Loving clouds come and stay.
One day, life may manifest as rain,
