It was a beautiful day in Pinellas County Florida. My uncle Richard had been fighting serious health issues. I called his sister to let her know he was in the hospital. She flew in from Denver.

The Doctor released Uncle Richard the next day. We had to take him back less than an hour later. The next day we went to take him home. While we waited for the doctor to arrive to release him I was talking to my uncle when he died in front of me.

Just like that, I lost my support system

For the first time in my life, I didn’t have anyone in the family around to counsel me and give me advice. I was in my fifties and had to go it alone. I started making mistakes as soon as my aunt went back to Denver.

The problem is an ongoing one. I don’t know how to make decisions. I think through the problems as best as I can, but I always make wrong decisions. I’m sure naivete and lack of experience played a part in my mistakes. The Neuro-psych report offers contributing factors.

Really, who would have thought?
