Paphos through Pictures

My trip through this beautiful city — right in the Mediterranean Sea!

People are very similar to birds — when it gets cold, we yearn to flock to warm places.

I grew up on a hot, humid tropical coast, but now live in Germany — so naturally, escaping the chilly European winters is a dream for me! (I’m sure that’s not only me).

But where can you go?

You can’t just travel to such places on a whim —all of them are too far away!

Or are they?

This time we found a nice little sweet spot: not too far to travel on a whim and pretty warm in winter too, all the while being in the EU!

Right in the Mediterranean Sea, this is the island country of Cyprus.

The place we visited is called Paphos (say Pafos), a coastal city in southwest Cyprus. It enjoys a subtropical Mediterranean climate. Imagine sunny 17° — 20° C (60° — 70° F)in winter!
