Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle were the three great Greek philosophers of the ancient era.

Socrates was Plato’s guru, and Plato was Aristotle’s guru. Aristotle, for me, was by far the greatest, and all philosophy to date is divided into pre-Aristotle and post-Aristotle.

Here is a comparison of their Art philosophies:

Both Plato and Aristotle analyze the notion of art based upon the same fundamental assumption that art is a form of mimesis, imitation. They both discuss the artist’s ability to have a significant impact on others. So, Plato, in “The Allegory of the Cave ‘’ proves indirectly that imitation can be good and can sound real, but it is definitely fake. Just like the shadows, the prisoners believed they were real, but they never found out it was a lie, they followed their belief and thought they would be harmed if they tried to leave, just like their friend became blind. All this dialogue between Plato and his brother, Glaucon, ruminates on the nature of belief versus knowledge. This illustrates exactly the movie-s nowadays, even if this story and philosophy are thousand years old, we still see these movies in real life when a person has to recognize everything up until this point in their life has been a lie.
