Your dream job is taken by someone else.

A shocking moment. You’ve always dreamed of this project, this big client.

But honesty wins, and you need to be honest with yourself.

You rarely learned or experimented with your skills. You thought there would be no need for this, at least for now. Everything is working great, so why learn new things or how do we find time to learn from the first place?

You did just what most people did.

Most people think if the thing they’ll be doing is not important right now, or when they can’t connect the dots, seeing the results of their actions, they don’t bother creating the dots (learning or experimenting) in the first place.

They prefer to proceed with their current knowledge until they notice a huge danger coming up.

This danger is you don’t only land your dream job, but when you’re no longer competitive in the market and about to wind up.

Stay away.

The only differentiator successful people have is they never stop learning or experimenting, even though they cannot connect the dots. They keep learning what they don’t know and honing what they know.

They consistently expand their knowledge and deepen it with practice.
