I’ve always been wary of AI writing bots that do my work for me, especially when they do it better.
As a writer, I don’t think I’m alone in that category. I’m a qualified writer, in fact, if that kind of thing matters anymore (it doesn’t). In theory, I should be able to craft my own sentences in the best way possible. Right?
Right??
But wait! This is how QuillBot, an AI Paraphraser, Summarizer, and “Co-Writer,” doctored the blurb above:
That’s how I feel as a writer, and I doubt I’m alone. What’s more, if credentials in this field still matter (they don’t), I’m a qualified writer. It stands to reason that I should be able to construct my own writing effectively. Right?
And I’d be lying through my teeth if I said I didn’t like that phrasing better than mine. It’s more concise, to the point, and fluid. My life is a sham!
